Alison Cormack was appointed by the City of Palo Alto to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency in February 2019.  Except for some emergency backup wells, the City receives its entire water supply from the San Francisco Regional Water System.

Ms. Cormack was elected to the City Council in 2018.  She currently serves on the Finance Committee, Rail Committee, City/School Liaison Committee, and the Recycled Water Advisor Committee.  She represents the Council on the Library Advisory Commission, and Parks and Recreation Commission, Palo Alto Community Child Care, and Friends of the Junior Museum and Zoo; and is the Alternate on the Utilities Advisory Commission, San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority.

Prior to her election to Council, Ms. Cormack served as Chair of Better Libraries for Palo Alto in 2008, board member of the Palo Alto Community Fund in 2017-18, and board member of the Palo Alto Library Foundation for ten years.  Ms. Cormack was the recipient of the 2012 Tall Tree Award for Outstanding Citizen, and a Volunteer role model for Ten Books a Home in 2016-2018.

Ms. Cormack has worked at Hewlett-Packard in finance and sales, and at Google in communications and customer support.
