Ms. Montano serves on the Cities Association Legislative Action Committee, Treatment Plant Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County Board of Directors, First 5 Santa Clara County Commission, Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC), JPA Library Commission, and SCVWD Commission. She is Liaison on the Milpitas Arts Commission, Milpitas Library Commission, Milpitas Chamber of Commerce, and Milpitas City/School District; and is currently a fellow for Water Education for Latino Leaders (WELL).
Ms. Montano has a BA in Liberal Studies/Humanities and a multiple subjects teaching credential from CSU, Monterey Bay. She is a retired school teacher and still “subs” at various school districts when she can.
Ms. Montano grew up in the Central Valley of California until the age of seven and moved from an agrarian environment to suburban Milpitas in 1964. She has two adult children and has three grandchildren. She enjoys reading, gardening, songwriting, poetry, and baking for her grandkids. She has a good sense of humor, enjoys helping others and enjoys nature outings.
