As with the source of supply, BAWSCA’s demand by customer class is relatively consistent over time. Of the 196.57 mgd consumed among BAWSCA agencies in FY 2020-21, the residential sector accounted for 61.6% (121.14 mgd); Commercial and industrial customers for 16.2% (31.89 mgd); government, institutional and other customers for 5.4% (10.53 mgd); dedicated irrigation for 9.4% (18.49 mgd); and non-revenue water for 7.4% (14.52 mgd).
In FY 2020-21, there were 439,238 accounts (service connections) in the entire BAWSCA service area, 88%, or 388,171, of which were residential.
