Danielle McPherson is the Senior Water Resources Specialist for the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA), which comprises the 26 utilities that purchase water from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) for resale to their local service areas. BAWSCA represents its members’ collective interests in their relationship with the SFPUC on matters related to water supply, facility reliability, operations, water quality and wholesale water rates.
Ms. McPherson manages the development and implementation of BAWSCA’s regional water conservation programs, assists with BAWSCA’s long-term water supply reliability planning, and supports oversight of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) planning and management of the regional water system. She supports BAWSCA’s technical and policy-level work and coordinates with the BAWSCA agencies, local and state agencies, and the public to achieve regional compliance with legislative and contractual requirements. Her other duties include selection and management of consultants, budget preparation and tracking, and report preparation and analysis.
Danielle joined BAWSCA in June of 2020. Previously, she was the Water Resources Specialist at WaterNow Alliance, a California based nonprofit, where she worked directly with public utilities throughout the U.S. to develop sustainable water management programs, including water use efficiency applications, green stormwater infrastructure, water reuse technologies, etc. She has a BA in English Literature from the Denison University and an MS in Environmental Management with a focus in Water Resource Management from the University of San Francisco.
