Kyle Ramey is the Water Resources Specialist for the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA), which comprises the 26 utilities that purchase water from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) for resale to their local service areas.  BAWSCA represents its members’ collective interests in their relationship with the SFPUC on matters related to water supply, facility reliability, operations, water quality and wholesale water rates.

Mr. Ramey plays an integral role in BAWSCA’s water conservation efforts and in BAWSCA’s efforts to oversee SFPUC’s water supply planning, operation and maintenance activities associated with the Regional Water System. Kyle assists with the administration of grant-funded projects and agency funded conservation programs.  His general duties include consultant management, budget preparation assistance, support in the development of BAWSCA board materials, providing project status updates to staff and stakeholders, and sharing details of projects being worked on by BAWSCA and BAWSCA’s results for the water customer.  In addition, he provides technical and analytical support for BAWSCA’s water resources activities, assists in the implementation of water use efficiency programs, and communicates these programs to the membership to promote acceptance. /p>

Prior to joining BAWSCA in June of 2020, Kyle worked at California Water Service as a Conservation Coordinator for the northern districts in California. In 2015, Kyle also served in the AmeriCorps program, Civic Spark, a one-year commitment to the governor’s environmental initiative to build capacity of local governments in order to address climate change in California.  During that time, he worked with the San Mateo County Energy Watch and BAWSCA as a Water Conservation Associate assisting San Mateo County K-12 schools with water conservation retrofits.  Kyle graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University.
